![]() Salem, Oregon - Pretty As A Postcard
At the 2001 Oregon State Fair, there was a very tall ferris wheel with only two spokes. Because of the great length of each spoke, riders were lifted through the air at amazing speed to an amazing height. This is the view looking east from the top. In the lower righthand corner is the pre-show courtyard for LB Day performers. At the top is the historic State Fair Grandstand (replaced in 2003 with an exhibit hall) and the Lone Oak Race Track that earlier became a large parking area.
