Bush House Museum Front Porch View.

Salem, Oregon - Pretty As A Postcard

The historic home of Asahel Bush II was built in 1877 and occupied by family members for the next 75 years showing its front porch. Or you can view it from the south side amid blooming tulips.

Many of the original furnishings are among those in use. Bush House Museum is located in Bush Park (officially known as "Bush's Pasture Park"). The Bush Park Rose Garden is a popular local attraction as is the annual Salem Art Fair & Festival.

Asahel Bush II is recognized as one of Oregon's most prominent historical figures. He founded the Oregon Statesman newspaper (today's Statesman Journal) and later Bush founded the Ladd and Bush Bank, which continues to operate at its original location on the SE corner of State Street & Commercial Street.
